We were impressed with the location, the size was good, nice appliances, 2 full baths and 3 bedrooms gave lots of room for my daughter and I and my 2 grandchildren. Kitchen was pretty well equipped and everything was comfortable. We loved the free wifi and easy access to Carling Avenue. The house was spotless and Rosemary checked in with us to make sure we got in ok. The access to get and leave the key was great too - no running around town trying to reach someone which was especially good for us since we landed at the airport after midnight, got our luggage and rental car and had to make it to the house with 2 young children after a long day of flying. Everything was ready for us and we just came in and got the kids to bed within minutes. The night light in the hall (we moved it to a bedroom) was a nice touch too - we never thought to bring the nightlight so were very happy to see that there! I would recommend this property and would stay there again.

Nice located apartment with kind hosts!...
The house is good located in the suburbs of Ottawa! Very nice to plan trips in the area. Shops and nice restaurants are just close by. Even a trip to the area of the thousand islands can be done form the house! The host was kind and gave us a warm welcome. During our stay there always was a quick response if we needed some tips etc.

Impressive renovation inside
We were pleasantly surprised by the interior and location. We felt like we were in a little house in the middle of a regular neighbourhood rather than a big touristy area. It was quiet with a great playground nearby for older kids too. Driving down to parliament was short and simple, just parking got tricky at times. Place was very clean and perfect for our group of 5. The basement futon was great for our son as the ceiling is low and he enjoyed having his own space. Thanks for sharing your city with us.

We had a great stay in this home. Everything we needed was here, and the owners provided us with lots of toys for our two year old daughter. The house had a great backyard and is really close to Westboro. Within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and food stores.
The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner provided good customer service. We had an enjoyable time, and would recommend the property to others.

My wife, two young children, and I have stayed at several houses from Home Away and I can honestly say that this residence has been the best to date. The owners were very responsive to our needs and rapidly responded to our multiple queries. The house is centrally located to all amenities and very close to the trendy Westboro district and to the great nightlife scene on Preston Street (Little Italy). The house came equipped with all the basic supplies that most homes on this website do not supply, such as toilet paper, dish soap, laundry soap, coffee, etc. As well, the kitchen was very well stocked with all more modern appliances and all the dishes, cutlery, and cookware that you could need. The owners even went out of her way to acquire age appropriate toys for our children so that we wouldn’t need to bring as many with us. The ensuite bathroom has a “rainfall” shower head which my wife just loved. Another huge perk for families with kids is that all three bedrooms are located on the main floor, which provides peace of mind when you have young children. During our trip, there was a significant snow storm and the owners promptly came to the house first thing in the morning to snow plow the long two-car driveway. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely look to rent it again during our next trip to Ottawa. Thank you very much to the owners!

As I leave today, I just wanted to say thanks and put in a good word for your housekeeping staff. She did an awesome job. As part of a work crew, staying in your home instead of a hotel was really appreciated and saved us money.

“Our hostess Rosemary was such a delight. Prior to arriving she responded to my questions quickly, she was at the property to welcome us when we arrived and she was most helpful with suggestions on the neighbourhood for where to dine and shop. The immediate neighbourhood is very residential but just a short drive away and you have a great street full of cafes, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc. The house itself is the best part. It is in perfect condition, modern decor and very clean. We were there during a heat wave and welcomed the wonderful air conditioning when we returned. It's only a 15-20 minute drive to the heart of the city and Parliament hill & if you take the parkway along the river it's much more scenic and about the same amount of time. We so enjoyed it all - if touring, you'll need to line up for your tickets to the Parliament building across the street. Be sure to be there early and take in the changing of the guards on the lawn at 10am. And the highlight may be the evening light and sound show....it was spectacular...check the website for times. And it's all free. We also splurged for our mother's birthday celebration with high tea at Chateau Laurier...well worth the experience. Check out Groupon and Wagjag and some of those sites for discounts on river cruises. The Capital Cruise tour was great. Thank you Rosemary, we so enjoyed our stay in Ottawa. Your house was perfect for our family and your hospitality most gracious. Highly recommend! ”

Facing a 1 or 2 month vacancy and winter around the corner, I was approached by HomeSpectations to rent my house on a short term basis. This is something I had not considered previously. The rent offered was more than I expected and the house was cleaned on a regular basis. HomeSpectations looked after the property and the tenant relations in a professional manner. I highly recommend this as a viable option for landlords.

We had to leave the country at very short notice for almost six months and were in a panic to get our house set up to be rented and find a renter within a week. Enter Rosemary who stepped in to take on the challenge. She found us suitable renters, set up a welcome package, purchased anything that was missing from the house deemed necessary for renters etc. We came back six months later without having to deal with anything house related in our absence.
